Pursuant to the Administrative Rules of the Pesticide Control Board, Pes 602.03/602.06, a Public Hearing concerning an application submitted by Solitude Lake Management, 590 Lake Street, Shrewsbury, MA, 01545, for a Special Permit to treat Big Island Pond, Hampstead, New Hampshire to control non-native spiny naiad, an aquatic plant, will be held on July 28, 2022 at 7 p.m. in the Old Meeting House, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, New Hampshire. The application was submitted on behalf of the Big Island Pond Corporation, PO Box 297, Hampstead, NH 03841.
Anyone wishing to address the issue should appear in person. A sign-up sheet will be available to register to speak. Written testimony may be submitted provided it is received by the Division of Pesticide Control by the close of the business day on July 29, 2022.
This proposal is to treat up to 81.3 acres of Big Island Pond, using the herbicide Tribune (Diquat), EPA Reg. No. 100-1390 in July or August. The application includes a map delineating the proposed treatment area(s).
