People-Power Event - July 23th

Save the Date!

What is a people powered event? Ever wondered how many kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, peddle boats and row-boats are on Big Island Pond?  Our third annual “people-powered” event will held on Sunday, July 23rd at 11:00.  Each year we increase particpation and quirkyness. In 2016 we had 152 boats (1 pink flamingo) with 178 people, 10 dogs 1 wolf spider and 2 fake ducks,   We gather in Johnson’s Cove – the big circular cove just south of the Governor’s Island bridge and pass through the bridge for an “official” count.
Looking forward to seeing you?

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with some minor landscape maintenance around the Dam property this past Fall.  Dam clean up is usually held in mid - late October.  Watch this site and the ponderables for this year's date.  Bring your gloves, clippers, chainsaws and meet your BIP neighbors. Coffee & Donuts are usually available.    Call Ken with questions 553-5224.

Dam was closed on October 12th.  Please tell your neighbors!

In the past we have had boat parades, cottage naming contests, fishing derbies, sailboat and canoe races, and scavenger hunts to name a few.
