People-Power Event - July 21st

What is a people powered event? Ever wondered how many kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, peddle boats and row-boats are on Big Island Pond?  Our forth annual “people-powered” event was held on Saturday, July 21st at 11:00 (rain date July 22).  Each year we increase particpation and quirkyness. In the recent past, we have had over 150 vessels including a pink flamingo, catermans and sailboats. Come join the fun.   We gather in Johnson’s Cove – the big circular cove just south of the Governor’s Island bridge (on the Hemlock Heights side of the bridge) and pass through the bridge for an “official” count.

Looking forward to seeing you?
