Filamentous Algae Behind Sandbar

State HACB

I appreciate you getting a sample here. The sample contains green filamentous algae. These slimy bundles are harmless but they also tend to accumulate other particles such as cyanobacteria. This time I did not observe the Anabeana I saw last time. There are few colonies of Microcystis and Woronichinia (cyanobacteria total cell count of 4,000 cells/ml). While the bundles are harmless, it is best to avoid these so that you do not make contact with the other accumulating particles (such as cyanobacteria).

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Amanda
